Dreger: Burke Contacts Snow Regarding #1 Pick.

with 3 comments

Brian Burke has wasted no time in staying true to his word on pursuing the #1 overall pick in the draft, Darren Dreger reports.

From Darren Dreger earlier today:

Speculation suggests rookie defenceman Luke Schenn will have to be included in the discussions, which may ultimately deter Toronto from making a deal.

As predicted, Luke Schenn, will almost have to be included in the deal. As pointed out earlier by NickD in the comments, Garth Snow passed up on Schenn in last year’s draft. However, because Schenn had such a successful rookie season, his stock has high and Snow could use Schenn as potential trade bait in another deal that would give him a good young forward, as their defense is already pretty deep.

Garth, please keep the pick.

  2. Where the hell did you get the ridiculous idea that the Isles defense “is already pretty deep”???

I LMAO @ Burke. Sorry Burkie, your Leafs aint getting jack. You think Garth Snow doesnt remember that 2002 playoffs? Why in the world should he do anything for the frickin Leafs, let alone give them the #1 pick in the draft for a kid the Isles already passed up on and- what else? Nothing? LOL- DREAM ON!!!

  3. Yep, ridiculous.

Burke wants to make a deal? Sure. Swap this years’ first round picks plus Schenn, Bozak, Hanson and the Leafs’ 2010 first round pick. Plus they can take back one of our discards (hello, Sim).
