Fantasy 50MC: Get Hanson

leave a comment »

According to multiple sources, Tom Glavine, who was signed by the Atlanta Braves to be their 5th starter, ended his AA start today after 2 innings with shoulder discomfort.

This is not good news for Glavine and Glavine fantasy owners (if there are any). However, this is great news for Tommy Hanson. Hanson could not break camp and was sent down to AAA, which he has dominated thus far. As of right now, Jorge Campillo is the emergency 5th starter for the Braves, but do you think Bobby Cox is going to trust Campillo as his 5th starter, or a guy who Chipper Jones thinks is the next John Smoltz? Hanson will be called up soon.

Hanson is only owned in 9% of Yahoo! leagues, so he should be available in your free agent pool. Pick him up now! It will not be long until he will emerge as one of the premier candidates for rookie of the year.

Google search “Tommy Hanson scouting report” if you are not convinced at what this guy is capable of.
