Must Read: Why Patrick O’Sullivan Could not Stay in Carolina.
David Lee (THE David Lee?) from Red and Black Hockey, who is a contributor to KuklasKorner pointed out last night the truth to why Patrick O’Sullivan could not stay in Carolina, which is what prompted a 3-team deal that sent him to Edmonton. Apparently it is a father issue. His father, John O’Sullivan was a former Atalntic Coast League player, who could not crack the NHL. This was his ultimate dream, which he could not achieve, so he tried to live his life through his son. The relationship got abusive, one side more than the other, to the point where Patrick had to get a restraining order on his father when he was 18. Today, before he steps on the ice, he looks around the arena to see if his father is watching – he hopes he isn’t.
