2010-2011 DAILY GOALIE START

with 89 comments

Welcome back to the 2010-2011 edition of Daily Goalie Start! For those new to the system, bookmark this page as it will be the one stop shop for starting goalies each night. It will be consistently updated as the season progresses, even more so than last year, now that I have a smartphone!

The reason why I keep this on one page, rather than creating a new page for everyday of the season is because this blog is connected to Bleacherreport, and I don’t want to clog up their webspace. So those of you on B/R, bookmark this page.

Feel free to post in the comment section on any goalie news you hear!

THANKS EVERYONE FOR THE SUPPORT! HOPE THIS HELPED EVERYONE IN THEIR FANTASY SEASONS!! SEE YOU NEXT YEAR… I apologize for being not as active this season. I was swamped with work, but still managed to do this to my best ability and finish in 3rd place in my fantasy league!

      • Yeah, he has. BIG time. It breaks my heart, because he is probably my favorite flyer. He probably shouldn’t have made the all-star game after his slow down. Not to mention briere and richie didn’t make it.

Dan Ellis is in for Tampa. About your team: Boyle did have a huge assist last night 😉 I assume Niittymäki is in net tonight and against the last placed oilers they shouldn’t have a problem.

    November 27, 2010 at 1:37 pm

    • Awesome find. TBay is inconsistent with news.

Ya great apple by Boyle :@.. I just sat down at the firkin last night and I saw him make that play and I almost threw my beer at the TV.

    November 27, 2010 at 12:41 pm

  16. Great page, but i’ve noticed lately that Brent Johnson multiple times have been named Penguins starter on the strenght of some odd-ball blogs info, only to not start. Maybe these blogs should go on some no-no list or something.

    Thanks for the page though!

    Fredrik

    November 27, 2010 at 12:10 pm

    • Its not actually his fault. A bunch of games in a row now, Johnson was supposed to start, but pulled out right before the game because of the flew. Even Dan Bylsma(the coach) thought that he was going to start. Sometimes its just out of our reach.

      Ethan Wendt

      November 27, 2010 at 12:31 pm

      • Aha i see, that explains his last game being nov. 10th. The thing with my pool, Fantasy Hockey on Facebook, is i dont even know if the one on the bench counts as a game played, anyone know for sure? I tend to think it does’nt even though it saiz Played on Bobrovsky right now. *Facepalm* 🙂

I too think there is a possibility, and they Flyers haven’t named their starter, which is odd.

Sometimes i don’t have control what goes on during pre-game I just go by what I read… But i have a lot of strong sources for Brent Johnson today.

I dont have any strong sources for the Philly game.. I m looking into it.

  21. Am I the only one that thinks its a little stupid to play a rookie 12 games in a row w/out rest?? I was shocked when I found out he was playing today. He only played 35 games last year, and he is on pace to play double that. It just doesn’t make sense to me, to overwork him this early. @Sergei Bobrovsky

    • AWESOME. Thanks a lot. I was looking all day for confirmation on who is playing.

What do you think of Carter signing for 11 years?

      miikeeed

      November 13, 2010 at 5:33 pm

      • I like it a lot personally. I know a lot of Flyers fans hate on him, just cause he comes and goes, but he is a solid player for around 5 mil. Just what i was hoping. I was a little afraid the price would go up to the 6-6+ range, which i think is a little high. So i think its a good signing. Now the just NEED so re-sign leino.

    • I think he will get at least 2. If he keeps winning, he will get more. I would play it as he goes.

They gave Nittymaki a lot of money too, so they will give him a good shot at earning his keep.
